The casual lifestyle of early years promoted this simplicity and void of ornamentation in the furniture of the local craftsmen in provincial France. Traditionally know as Louis Phillip style, Blackwelder's Duke D'Orleans is larger scale for todays homes. Constructed of selected hardwood with Cherry veneers with a Dark Cherry finish. Common features include: Ogee shaped crown moulding on all case pieces, solid bottom rails and bracket feet on all case pieces, cathedral cut Cherry veneer in four-way match in all door, all drawers highlighted by a tulip wood inlay, all cases have floor glides, antique brass hardware, ogee shaped drawers.
