The New England Shaker Maple Bedroom Collection is hand Crafted in New England of solid Northern Maple in a classic Shaker design used since 1883. Some of the quality features include a 14 step finishing process which assures a lasting finish that will develop a rich patina over the years while protecting against checking, chalking or becoming brittle. French dovetail drawer joints are used, locking the drawer fronts to the sides (a critical joint) due to its superior strength. English dovetails are used to hold the sides to the rear of the drawer. Mortise & tenon joinery ensures an exacting fit of the sides and rails of the case pieces while providing strength for years & years of quality service. Floating construction permits the wood to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes thereby eliminating splitting. Fully dust proofed cases protect items in the drawer and adds strength to the case. Wood on wood drawer guides provide a smooth and balanced opening and closing of drawers. Natural finish.
